📖 Stage Description
Melide is the starting point of this long penultimate stage before Santiago, now shared with the flow of the Camino Francés. The path passes through great eucalyptus forests that filter the Galician light, punctuated by silent hamlets, rural chapels and cool drinking fountains.
Arzúa, at the midpoint, is celebrated for its protected-designation cheese — queixo d'Arzúa-Ulloa — and its many bakeries. The atmosphere is festive and international: walkers of every nationality converging on the same goal. The excitement of imminent arrival is written on every face.
O Pedrouzo, a large, well-equipped hub for pilgrims, offers a chance to rest before the final stage into Santiago de Compostela.
