📖 Stage Description
Leaving Salas behind, the third stage crosses a mid-mountain Asturian landscape of chestnut forests and grassy cols. The path is often narrow and muddy in wet weather, revealing the Primitivo's authentic character: little-walked, wild, with panoramas over steep-sided valleys.
The villages along the way — Mallecina, La Espina — have preserved their traditional rural architecture, hórreos included. The stage is short but physically demanding, through generous, unspoilt countryside.
Tineo, the main town of its comarca, is known for its smoked sausages and market atmosphere. The church of Santa María is worth a stop before heading to the albergue.
