📖 Stage Description
Leaving Tineo behind, this stage marks a step up in the Camino Primitivo's intensity. The path climbs toward the high Asturian plateaux, crossing forests and upland heathland. Successive passes deliver breathtaking views over the Cantabrian peaks.
The landscape grows wilder and more rugged, sprinkled with bracken and gorse. With 25 km and significant cumulative elevation gain, this is a demanding day that foreshadows the mountain character of the stages to come.
Pola de Allande, a small town tucked at the bottom of a deep valley, welcomes the pilgrim. Its baroque church and taverns serving Asturian cider make for a well-earned restorative stop.
