📖 Stage Description

A Fonsagrada is the starting point of the longest stage on the Camino Primitivo — 34 km — through the Galician highlands in a landscape of heather, eucalyptus forests and tiny granite hamlets.

The path is often solitary, bathed in the diffuse light that is so characteristic of Galicia. Pazos — Galician manor houses — and carved cruceiros punctuate the route. Some pilgrims choose to split this long stage into two days. The solitude and wildness of this day rank among the Primitivo's most memorable moments.

O Cadavo Baleira is a modest but well-equipped village with comfortable albergues for a well-earned rest.
