📖 Stage Description

From Sarria, the path suddenly fills with new pilgrims — sometimes a jarring experience after weeks of solitude. But the Galician magic works its spell: chestnut trees, oaks, ferns, hórreos (raised stone granaries), granite walls. Portomarín, rebuilt on higher ground when a dam flooded the old town, has preserved its fortress-church — moved stone by stone to safety.
