📖 Stage Description
Pons marks the start of stage 15 of the Via Turonensis. Saintonge, a land of white stone and cognac, stretches its gentle horizons. The Romanesque bell towers of Saintonge are among the finest in France — masterpieces of Poitevin Romanesque art.
Upper Saintonge between Cognac vineyards and gentle bocage. Jonzac with its thermal baths, then Mirambeau and its Renaissance castle overlooking the Charente valley. The route follows dirt paths and minor roads through a typical landscape of Charente-Maritime, alternating forest paths and village crossings.
Arrival at Mirambeau concludes this stage of 32,0 km with a positive elevation gain of 0 m — an Easy stage, accessible to the majority of walkers. All practical information for the overnight stop is available in the sidebar.
