Remontant la vallée de l’Arize puis bifurquant vers le Couserans, le chemin rejoint Saint-Lizier, ancienne capitale épiscopale gallo-romaine inscrite au Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO. L’ensemble architectural médiéval y est exceptionnel : cathedral Notre-Dame-de-la-Sede aux fresques romanes du XIᵉ siècle, cloître à double galerie, palais des Évêques et remparts gallo-romains intégrant de nombreux spolias de la cité antique de Forum Iulii Sessorianorum.
