📖 Stage Description

Lisbon, Portugal's capital and the starting point of the Camino Português Central, offers an unforgettable introduction. The route begins at the Sé de Lisboa in the Alfama district, follows the Tagus northward and gradually passes through the suburbs of Sacavém and Alverca do Ribatejo.

The route hugs the banks of the Tagus, offering views over the river and the Lezíria plain. The terrain alternates between urban and semi-rural, with a few hills before reaching Vila Franca de Xira.

Vila Franca de Xira, the city of bullfighting and Ribatejo traditions, concludes this first stage with its lively centre, Tagus riverbank and many accommodations.
