📖 Stage Description

This short stage follows the Águeda valley through a landscape of wooded hills and meadows. The path drifts gently northward through a handful of typical hamlets in the Aveiro district, with their granite and schist farmhouses.

The stage is ideal for recovering your legs or simply enjoying the scenery of the Vouga region, with its pine forests and clear streams. Comfortable walking before the longer stages ahead toward Porto.

Albergaria-a-Velha, a small transit town on the northern motorway corridor, has all the services you need and a good albergue. Its very name recalls its history as a staging post on the old royal road.
