📖 Stage Description

One of the most demanding stages of the Camino Portugués in Portugal, crossing the hills of the Alto Minho with several significant climbs through oak, chestnut and eucalyptus forests. The views over the Lima and Minho valleys make every step worthwhile.

The stage passes through Rubiães, a small village with an albergue that allows you to split this long day into two. From there the path climbs to the final pass before the descent to the River Minho and the Spanish border.

Valença do Minho, a spectacular Vauban fortress town commanding the river, is a unique border experience. Directly opposite, linked by the international bridge, Tui marks the gateway into Spain and Galicia. An unforgettable evening within the ramparts awaits.
