📖 Stage Description
From O Porriño, the path climbs into the wooded hills of Galicia through eucalyptus and pine forests. The industrial zones fall away quickly, giving way to an authentic rural Galician landscape dotted with the characteristic hórreos — raised stone granaries — that punctuate every hamlet.
The stage delivers the first views of the Ría de Vigo, the deep Galician fjord where the Atlantic inlets cut far into the land. The sight of shimmering water ringed by green hills is truly striking.
Redondela, built around an impressive 19th-century railway viaduct, is a lively town on the shores of the ría. Its modern albergue and numerous restaurants make for a pleasant stop on this shorter stage.
