📖 Stage Description

From Ansião, the path enters a beautiful landscape of pine and oak wooded plateaux, dotted with stone villages that seem unchanged for centuries. The gradual descent toward the Coimbra basin reveals increasingly wide views over the plain below.

The stage crosses the Rabaçal region, known for its AOC ewe's-milk cheeses. The village of the same name makes a lovely gastronomic stop halfway, surrounded by lush green meadows.

Condeixa-a-Nova, on the doorstep of the great university city of Coimbra, is a modern little town with excellent accommodation. The Roman ruins of Conimbriga, just 2 km away, are well worth a detour.
