📖 Stage Description

From Plasencia, the Via de la Plata heads north along the valley of the río Ambroz. The path climbs into the first foothills of the Sierra de Béjar before descending toward Aldeanueva del Camino.

This stage is defined by a spectacular change of scenery: the Extremaduran plains give way to a world of forested mountains, cool rivers and grey-stone villages. The air grows fresher. The Central Cordillera rises ahead of you.
