📖 Stage Description
A beautiful mountain stage that crosses the Puerto de Béjar pass. From Aldeanueva, the path climbs to the thermal baths of Baños de Montemayor, whose hot springs were already frequented by the Romans.
Beyond the spa, the ascent continues to the Béjar pass (1,000 m), from where the views over the Castilian plains are extraordinary. The descent into Béjar is steep.
Béjar, a historic textile town, retains its medieval walls, the castle of the Dukes of Béjar, and the remarkable 16th-century botanical garden El Bosque.
