📖 Stage Description

A short stage leading to Benavente, an important medieval city at the confluence of the Eria and the Órbigo rivers. The town was a significant royal residence during the Middle Ages.

Benavente marks a key milestone: this is where the route enters the province of León, and where the landscape begins to shift toward the wide open spaces of the Leonese Páramo.
