📖 Stage Description

A beautiful stage through the wetland landscapes of the Esla valley. The path crosses several small streams before reaching the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Santa María de Moreruela (12th century), one of the earliest Cistercian monasteries in Spain.

These romantic ruins, lost among the fields, are one of the most evocative sites on the entire Via de la Plata. Romanesque arches rise against the Castilian sky in solemn silence.
