📖 Stage Description
A long stage that crosses the heights of the Sierra Morena. After El Real de la Jara, the path climbs gradually. The vegetation shifts: cork oaks give way to holm oaks and broom.
Monesterio, midway through the stage, deserves a long break. The town is the self-proclaimed world capital of jamón ibérico de bellota — acorn-fed ham, the finest in the world. Treat yourself to an authentic bocadillo de jamón.
Fuente de Cantos, birthplace of baroque painter Francisco de Zurbarán (1598–1664), has a museum dedicated to his work.
