📖 Stage Description

This stage crosses the agricultural lowlands between the Gers and the Landes, through wide-open fields of maize and sunflowers. Aire-sur-l'Adour is a Gallo-Roman town on the banks of the Adour, home to the magnificent crypt of Sainte-Quitterie, patron saint of Gascony — well worth the short climb at the end of the day.

This stage crosses the Gers / Landes region over 26.7 km with 270 m of positive elevation gain. The main villages along the route are: Lanne-Soubiran (km 8.9) and Barcelonne-du-Gers (km 17.8).

  Flat to gently rolling terrain along the Adour corridor, crossing the Gascon Chalosse countryside.

  Stop at Barcelonne-du-Gers (km 17.8) — fountain and supplies available.
