📖 Stage Description

The final French stage of the GR®65. The path winds through the Basque hills before descending into Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, a fortified medieval town listed among France's most beautiful villages, nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees. Around 750 km walked — Spain waits on the other side of the mountains.

This stage crosses the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region over 21.5 km with 420 m of positive elevation gain. The main villages along the route are: Saint-Palais (km 6), Harambeltz (km 12) and Lasse (km 16.1).
