📖 Stage Description
This short stage from Vendôme is one of the most beautiful on the entire route. The path follows the Loir valley through a picturesque landscape of limestone cliffs, vineyards and cave dwellings.
Lavardin, perched on a rocky spur above the Loir, is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Its church of Saint-Genest, with exceptional Romanesque frescoes, and its half-timbered houses make it an unmissable stop.
Arriving at Villedieu-le-Château closes this short but intense 18.5 km stage. This Loir-et-Cher village, with its Romanesque church, offers welcome peace for an overnight rest before the long stages through Touraine.
