📖 Stage Description

From Reugny, the final stage of the Paris-Tours segment crosses the famous Vouvray vineyards, the emblematic appellation of Touraine. The path winds between rows of vines planted on the tufa hillsides.

Vouvray, at the midpoint, is unmissable: its cave cellars carved into the white cliff, its Chenin Blanc tastings and its panoramic view over the Loire all make it worth a stop. The descent towards the Loire marks the transition to the great river.

Arriving at Tours, historic pilgrim town of the Via Turonensis, completes the Paris-Tours segment of the GR655. The cathedral of Saint-Gatien welcomes the pilgrim who continues on to Poitiers, Bordeaux and Santiago de Compostela.
