📖 Stage Description

La Celle-sur-Nièvre marks the start of a short stage of 16.5 km, one of the most modest on the route. It offers a gentler walking pace, conducive to contemplation.

The path gradually joins the Loire valley, skirting the hillsides that overlook the river. The landscapes change: the Morvan bocage gives way to the great alluvial plains of the Loire Valley.

Arrival at La Charité-sur-Loire — city of Books and town of art and history — is one of the highlights of the early route. The Notre-Dame Priory, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dominates the quays of the Loire.
