📖 Stage Description

La Charité-sur-Loire, with its UNESCO-listed Cluniac priory, marks the entry into the Berry. The route crosses the Loire on a panoramic bridge before heading south towards the plains of the Cher.

Berry reveals its peaceful agricultural expanses here, dotted with small towns, Romanesque churches and windmills. The path, often along field edges, heads straight south.

This long stage of 36 km — rated Easy despite its distance — crosses the Cher without great difficulty. Arrival at Villabon already heralds the great city of the Dukes of Berry.
