📖 Stage Description
The Indre department opens before the walker from Issoudun — a region with a strongly rural character, the land of George Sand and the Black Valley. The route crosses vast cereal-growing areas, quiet and sparsely populated.
Passing through Sainte-Lizaigne offers a welcome break at the midpoint, before the gradual descent towards the Indre valley and the outskirts of Castleroux.
Arrival at Castleroux, prefecture of the Indre, closes a stage of 33.6 km. The city offers everything the demanding pilgrim needs: varied accommodation, shops and a fine old town.
