📖 Stage Description
A high-mountain stage through the Haut-Languedoc massif. The path crosses the upland moors and peat bogs of the Espinouse plateau before descending to the reservoir of La Raviège, a 600-hectare artificial lake with blue waters framed by pine forests.
La Salvetat-sur-Agout, the capital of the Tarn's Haut-Languedoc, is a pleasant spa and holiday town on the lakeshore. Founded by the Templars, it retains its medieval grid-plan layout. The Agout river, cool and ideal for swimming in summer, flows through the town. A good resupply stop with shops, varied accommodation and an active tourist office.
