📖 Stage Description

The path plunges deep into the Petite Camargue, a land of lagoons, reed beds and flamingos. The Mediterranean light — intense and golden — bathes this landscape in a strange, wild beauty. Camargue bulls and white horses graze freely across the open manades.

The route follows the banks of irrigation canals before reaching Vauvert, a Gard town with a pleasant old quarter. The region produces rice, reeds for basket-weaving and salt from the saltpans. A flat, restful stage, ideal for soaking up the singular character of the Camargue in all its Mediterranean uniqueness.
