The path climbs back into the Hérault vineyards, crossing celebrated wine-growing terroirs: Aniane, praised by Robert Parker, medieval Gignac with its arcaded streets, then the limestone plateaus producing bold, characterful wines. The route offers sweeping views over the Hérault plain and the first foothills of the Cévennes to the north.

Montpeyroux, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, is a medieval gem perched on its rocky outcrop. Its golden limestone lanes, 13th-century keep and wine cellars make it an unforgettable stop. The village lends its name to a recognised Languedoc AOC wine. A stage that captures the very essence of medieval, wine-country Languedoc.
