📖 Stage Description

This long, demanding stage climbs out of Vigo through wooded heights to Redondela, a remarkable town suspended above the ría and famous for its spectacular railway viaducts. It is here that the Camino da Costa merges with the Camino Portugués Central.

From Redondela, the path continues with the ups and downs typical of the Galician countryside, crossing granite hamlets and eucalyptus groves before reaching Arcade, celebrated for its oysters.

Pontevedra, with its entirely pedestrianised medieval lanes and Romanesque churches, is one of the most beloved stops for pilgrims heading to Santiago.
