📖 Stage Description

After arriving at the cathedral, pilgrims who want to walk all the way to the sea leave Santiago the following morning. The city falls away quickly; suburbs give way to Galician sunken lanes, eucalyptus groves and small granite villages.

The Camino Fisterra-Muxía is far less walked than the Camino Francés — which is one of its greatest appeals. You rediscover the solitude of the early days.

Negreira, an unpretentious town with all necessary services, marks the entry into the Galician interior. The first night away from Santiago confirms one thing: the road goes on, and you weren't really ready for it to stop.
