📖 Stage Description

From Bruma, the path first reaches its high point at 458 metres on the Serra do Gato, offering breathtaking panoramas over inland Galicia on a clear day. The wild heathland gradually gives way to the eucalyptus and pine forests characteristic of deepest Galicia.

The descent is gradual through the hamlets of inland Galicia — granite villages, rural chapels and hórreos with slate roofs often decorated with crosses and granite balls. The landscape has a rare authenticity, far from the tourist trail.

Ordes, the main town of the comarca of the same name, is a lively place with everything needed to rest before the long final stage to Santiago. Its restaurants serve traditional Galician cuisine: pulpo á feira, lacón con grelos and empanada.
