📖 Stage Description
A long stage along the Cantabrian coast between Castro Urdiales and Laredo. The path involves constant ascents and descents over headlands and cliffs — the Cantabrian coastline is anything but flat.
You pass through Islares and its wild beach, then Oriñón with its estuary and sandy shores. The coast here is less touristy than the Basque Country, wilder, with higher cliffs and less crowded beaches.
Laredo is a large seaside resort with 5 km of beach — La Salvé — one of the longest in Cantabria. Its medieval old town perched on a promontory contrasts sharply with the modern resort below.
