📖 Stage Description

You are now fully in Asturias — a region apart in Spain, proud of its language (Asturian), its natural cider (sidra) and a coastline among the wildest on the Iberian Peninsula.

The stage from Colombres to Llanes is long and varied: sheer cliffs, secret beaches reachable only on foot, fishing villages with colourful boats. Pendueles, with its geological blowholes (bufones) that the sea fills at high tide, is a unique spectacle.

Llanes is a beautiful medieval town with its 14th-century ramparts, its Cubos de la Memoria (colourful cubes painted by artist Agustín Ibarrola on the port's wave-breaker blocks) and its lively old town.
