📖 Stage Description

This stage crosses one of the wildest and least populated stretches of the Camino Norte. Between Soto de Luiña and Cadavedo, the path follows steep cliffs with few villages and even fewer amenities.

The coastline here is almost completely unspoilt: cliff-top meadows, wind-battered eucalyptus groves, tiny hamlets of a handful of houses where the elderly watch pilgrims pass. This is one of the sections of the camino that most resembles the Camino Primitivo, the oldest Way of Saint James.

Cadavedo is a quiet rural village with its Santa María church and grey stone houses. Infrastructure is minimal — stock up on supplies before you set out.
