🗺 Stage Map
📖 Stage Description
A short stage between two Galician villages, crossing the green hills of the Mariña Lucense. The path winds between oak forests and damp meadows, passing through hamlets where granite dominates everything.
The descent to Mondoñedo from the heights is one of the finest moments of this stage: the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral appears gradually at the bottom of the valley, framed by forested mountains.
Mondoñedo is one of the seven capitals of the medieval kingdom of Galicia. Its cathedral (12th–16th c.) is a masterpiece little known to mainstream tourism. The town has an intact medieval charm, free from mass tourism.
