📖 Stage Description

The most symbolic stage of the Camino Norte's final stretch: reaching Arzúa, a town on the Camino Francés where thousands of pilgrims from across Europe converge. For those who have walked from Bayonne, this is a moment of quiet pride — you took the less-travelled road, the more authentic one.

The route passes through Boimorto and winds through Galician pine forests, the characteristic landscape of this inland Galicia. The sunken lanes (corredoiras) lined with granite hedgerows are magical in the mist.

Arzúa is famous for its cheese (Queso Arzúa-Ulloa PDO) and for the sudden influx of Camino Francés pilgrims. After the solitude of the Camino Norte, it can feel like a culture shock — hundreds of walkers out of nowhere!
