📖 Stage Description
Leaving San Sebastián via Mount Ulia offers one last postcard view of La Concha. The path follows the coast at altitude — that is the Basque style: always between sea and mountain, with no transition.
After Orio and its rowing boat crossing of the Oria estuary, the green hills roll on. The coastal Basque Country reveals its deeper face: farmhouses (caseríos) with flower-decked facades, oak and eucalyptus forests, silence between villages.
Zarautz closes the stage with the longest beach in the Basque Country (2.3 km of sand). A town of surf, cider and good cheer, it gives pilgrims a warm welcome at the end of the day.
