📖 Stage Description

From Chevreuse, the path plunges into the heart of the Rambouillet Forest, one of the largest forests in Ile-de-France. Shaded trails wind between centuries-old oaks and beeches, passing by the ruined abbey of Vaux-de-Cernay.

The route passes through the forest hamlets of Auffargis and La Celle-les-Bordes before skirting the edges of the Rambouillet park. The elevation gain, though moderate, accumulates across many small climbs typical of wooded Ile-de-France.

Arrival at Émancé marks the border of the Yvelines department and the preparation for crossing the Beauce plain. This peaceful village offers a well-deserved rest before the great cereal plain stretching towards Chartres.
