📖 Stage Description
Pissos marks the start of stage 22 of the Via Turonensis. The Landes forest — the largest planted forest in Europe — stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Maritime pines, sandy tracks and blue lakes create a unique atmosphere suited to meditative walking.
The straight forest track crosses the woodland in near-total silence. Labouheyre, a discreet Landes market town, welcomes pilgrims at the crossroads. The route follows dirt paths and minor roads through a typical landscape of Landes, alternating forest paths and village crossings.
Arrival at Labouheyre concludes this stage of 16,3 km with a positive elevation gain of 0 m — an Easy stage, accessible to the majority of walkers. All practical information for the overnight stop is available in the sidebar.
