📖 Stage Description
Labouheyre marks the start of stage 23 of the Via Turonensis. The Landes forest — the largest planted forest in Europe — stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Maritime pines, sandy tracks and blue lakes create a unique atmosphere suited to meditative walking.
The great crossing of the deep Landes — pines, silence and endless horizons. Lesperon, a village in the inland Landes, marks the gradual transition toward the Pyrenees. The route follows dirt paths and minor roads through a typical landscape of Landes, alternating forest paths and village crossings.
