📖 Stage Description
Lesperon marks the start of stage 24 of the Via Turonensis. The Landes forest — the largest planted forest in Europe — stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Maritime pines, sandy tracks and blue lakes create a unique atmosphere suited to meditative walking.
The Landes finally open up. Dax, an ancient spa city on the Adour, has welcomed pilgrims for centuries. Its springs bubble at 64°C since Roman times. The route follows dirt paths and minor roads through a typical landscape of Landes, alternating forest paths and village crossings.
Arrival at Dax concludes this stage of 33,9 km with a positive elevation gain of 0 m — an Easy stage, accessible to the majority of walkers. All practical information for the overnight stop is available in the sidebar.
