📖 Stage Description
Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine marks the start of stage 3 of the Via Turonensis. The border between Touraine and Poitou takes shape in the landscape — denser bocage, more pronounced relief, greyer stones. The Vienne region announces itself in the distance.
The Touraine plain gives way to the bocage of Vienne. The route follows the Creuse river before entering the Vienne department at Dangé-Saint-Romain. The route follows dirt paths and minor roads through a typical landscape of Indre-et-Loire / Vienne, alternating forest paths and village crossings.
Arrival at Dangé-Saint-Romain concludes this stage of 29,2 km with a positive elevation gain of 267 m — a Moderate stage, accessible to the majority of walkers. All practical information for the overnight stop is available in the sidebar.
